It's great you got the photo before the restoration! (seriously, I DO support restoration of such buildings as long as they are done properly)

Nice work :D (Big Grin)

Thanks for letting us know it was fixed up.  That was my first thought on seeing it, "Fixer-upper special."  Just looked too interesting to think it was going to rot away.  Lovely old fairy tale look in your picture, like someone had walked into Faery and come back to find their home all overgrown.

Thanks for that! Seeing it restored and repainted with all those dainty details was like looking in a book of fables. It's great they brought it back to life. You're very lucky to be able to venture around and find all these sites. I live in a place where buildings are all very new or town down and replaced after just 50 years. Nothing lasts here.

It's strange but not unheard of. One day you're uploading new work, then bam! massive numbers of people find you. It was a great find to share, just took some time for us others to realize it was here this whole time. ;)

Lol, this has been here since 2008 though....no new stock photos have been uploaded by me for a while....yet this particular photo has been viewed over 5,000 times today for some unfathomable reason! Glad you liked it though

That's what I mean. This site's viewership works a little spontaneously sometimes. One person whose favourites gallery is looked at a lot is all it takes for many others to find you through him. Or someone must have pointed out your image to a few other enthusiasts of architectural decay. Word of mouth can come out of nowhere!

Either way, lucky you on finally having the image appreciated on a larger scale! :D

You never know! There might be a serial killer in there :D xD

Yes, I went back in the summer and it now looks as though it's being lived in and has been done up in a sympathetic manner. I didn't take photos as I thought it would be an invasion of privacy although I still think on it as 'my house'! :-)

I would love to stumble across this house in the woods! You're lucky you got to experience it.. thank you for sharing with us! Although I kinda wish it had been left alone instead of renovated. I like it the way it is in this picture...

Aaaahhhh well, hmmmmmm, yes - I went back there the other day to take some more photos, and it's all under scaffolding - someone is taking the time to restore it back to health. I was kind of happy and sad about that because I've always thought of it as 'mine' alone, but hey at least it's not being left to crumble into dust!
